Hyaluronidase is a powdered enzyme that produces hydrolysis, ie the degradation of hyaluronic acid. There are situations when following an injectable treatment with hyaluronic acid, it is in excess and may migrate from the area where it was injected, having an unsightly appearance.

Hyaluronidase treatment is used in the following situations:

hyaluronic acid was injected in excess in a certain area

the acid migrated from the injected area

when post-injection asymmetries remain

granulomas, nodules on the lips

the patient is dissatisfied with the result and wants to return to the appearance before the injection

in case of arterial occlusion

allergic reaction

An anesthetic cream is used to reduce the discomfort caused by the injection. After the hyaluronidase is reconstituted with saline, it is injected into the area that needs correction.

Prior to injection, a skin test may be performed to avoid the risk of an allergic reaction. The procedure is not painful and takes about 30 minutes.

At the time of injection, a burning sensation may occur and bruising may occur in place of the injection, but it disappears in a few days.

The effects of hyaluronidase begin to be seen immediately after injection but the final result will be seen within a few days of injection. After the procedure for dissolving hyaluronic acid, it is recommended to wait at least one month for a new injection of hyaluronic acid.
