What are nasogenian trenches?
As we age, the skin on the face undergoes changes as do the rest of the structures: bones, muscles, ligaments and fat compartments, which leads to the appearance of certain wrinkles, including the nasogenic (nasolabial) grooves.
They extend from the base of the nose more precisely from the nasal wings to the corners of the mouth. In some cases the nasogenian grooves continue beyond the corner of the mouth and then we are talking about the puppet lines.
How is the procedure performed?
A consultation is recommended first, in order to make an assessment of the patient and to discuss all the details related to this procedure. The injection of hyaluronic acid at the level of the nasogenic grooves is performed with local anesthesia with anesthetic cream.
It is a quick procedure that takes about 30 minutes, and the result begins to be seen immediately after the injection and we will have an improvement in the coming weeks.
The results can be maintained between 6 and 12 months but depend on the type of hyaluronic acid injected, the degree of hydration maintained but also the lifestyle of each patient (smoking, alcohol consumption, physical activity, skin care routine).
The amount of hyaluronic acid required for the correction of nasogenic grooves depends on the depth of wrinkles and will be determined after consultation. For deep nasogenic wrinkles, a larger amount of hyaluronic acid may be needed, which is injected in several sessions every few weeks.
Side effects
The main side effects that may occur after the procedure are:
erythema (redness) at the injection site
itching (itching)
bruising at the injection site (bruising)

All these reactions resolve spontaneously a few days after the injection.
If these reactions last more than a week or other mild reactions occur, the patient will consult the doctor who injected him/her!
