Contouring the mandibular line and the chin is a minimally invasive procedure that consists of injecting hyaluronic acid at certain points of the lower third of the face giving a much more defined appearance of the face.

As time passes, changes related to the aging process as well as the process of bone resorption at the mandibular level cause the loss of the mandibular contour.

The procedure can be done for both women and men, being an intervention that can be combined with other procedures such as: volumizing the cheekbones, injecting botulinum toxin into the masseter muscle, lipolysis for double chin or other treatments to improve quality and skin texture.

It is recommended that before the procedure the patient does not use non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (ibuprofen, paracetamol, etc.), antibiotics and anticoagulants and to avoid alcohol consumption.

A consultation is initially recommended to find out the patient's history, if there are any contraindications for this procedure and to be able to agree on the best way to achieve the desired results by the patient. The procedure will be done after applying an anesthetic cream. and consists of injecting hyaluronic acid into the mandibular area with a needle or cannula.

The amount of hyaluronic acid used varies depending on the case and what results we want to achieve.

• Avoid exposure to the sun, sun, sauna and extreme cold for about a week after the injection

• avoid intense physical exertion for one week after the procedure

• Avoid alcohol and smoking for 72 hours

• do not apply makeup on the injected area for 24 hours

• no other cosmetic or dental procedures will be performed in the next two weeks

• avoid the administration of anti-inflammatory drugs for 48 hours

• proper hydration (1.5-2 l per day)
